Not everyone learns in the same way. I try to discern how the student I am tutoring learns best, whether it's by just doing examples, or visually by physically relating the material to something easier to understand. After I have found out how best to teach my student, I am able to move forward and help them to the best of my ability. In my tutoring experience, I have always been respectful and curteous to my students. I believe that students are much more likely to confident in their learning if they feel as if they are respected their teacher/tutor.
