I encourage students to question problem solving methods in order to understand the fundamentals. After an explanation of the material I often follow up with several example problems to help students test their mastery of the subject. I do not emphasize memorizing equations, because students do not learn about the physical phenomena by memorization. My comments on tutoring Mechanical Engineering : Also, I have had experiences in tooling and ground support equipment.

First, I have had 26 year experiences in aircraft (i.e. C-17, 787 & Delta IV rocket) structural design, analysis and repair. Due to lack of new order for C-17 transport airplanes, I was laid off by Boeing on 5-2-2014. I have been eligible for social security benefits since October 2014. However, I am in such a good shape to be able to play tennis games. I would like to work for 5 more years minimum to contribute my engineering knowledge and enrich my personal life. I am looking forward to working as a mechanical engineering tutor.

Currently just graduated with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University Long Beach. I have tutored several different courses throughout my career. Including Thermodynamics, Numerical Methods for Engineers, Mechanics of Materials, Calculus, Differential Equations and more. I had a high GPA in college and was a very hard worker. Usually the way I tutor is the student brings me homework problems or questions about a topic and I walk them through how to solve them.
I like to use a white board when I tutor, it makes it easier to solve many different problems without having to use paper. I also prefer that students bring questions and homework problems to tutor sessions that way I have a better understanding of what they need to learn.

My comments on tutoring Mechanical Engineering : At UCSD we take several classes that are very alike to the curriculum of a mechanical Engineer.

I started tutoring in middle school in the field of math, science and history. When I was in High School I tutored kids for the clubs I was in such as the Spanish Honors Society, Math Club, National Honors Society, and California Scholarship Federation. On top of tutoring kids at my high school I would tutor elementary kids that were taking the high school placement exam on weekends at my high school. Now that I am in college I work in teams of 4 or 5 to help each other learn the engineering material.
I can teach either one to one or multiple kids. I have dealt with both cases and I when I am dealing with multiple kids I try to pair them up by their struggles so that they can overcome the obstacle together.
