I use visual and auditory means to show the proper way to record the transactions then have the student repeat back what I said and enter the data to further enforce the method. After all is said and done, I show them the results from the transactions cause and effect on their books in the profit and loss, balance sheet, general ledger.
33 years of accounting, bookkeeping, tax, payroll, journal entries, profit and loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow, budgets, fixed assets, depreciation schedules, sales tax, excise tax, and consulting. Worked with industries in wholesale, retailer, and services. I handle companies with cash and accrual base accounting with C & S Corporations, LLC, Partnerships, and sole proprietors. One of my most vivid memories of exercising patience with another person is when my neighbor, Kaitlyn, was learning to read. I practiced reading with Kaitlyn three afternoons a week during the summer. I worked patiently with her as she struggled to make out sounds and work her way through beginner books.
