My comments on tutoring Literature : My master's degree in English included coursework on literature; I have an M.A. from George Mason and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. Both English programs emphasized literary content.

My instructional experience includes over 230 credit hours of composition and language arts instruction, including creative writing, literary analysis and Shakespeare. However, most of the instruction has been focused on composition. I developed a bachelor level English course for Pearson Education, working as a writer on a team of three; the course was deployed nationally at over 100 campuses.

I have over of 30 years of progressive experience in tutoring young children in the elementary years of education in all subject matter areas. My comments on tutoring Literature : Have always read the great world novels from the great English novelists to the great Russian writers

Laid back but serious as student learning subject matter is the most important factor in yuoring.
Have tutored for five years with Wyzant, Tutoring Center of Herndon and on my own. My main concern is too make sure student is confortable in his/her understanding the subject material. As it relates to French Language skills, I completed 4 years of French in high school and 2 years (thus far) at Stony Brook University- currently taking 400-level courses in French Literature. I believe in allowing the student to work most of the problems out for themselves.
