I make sure that every topic that i go over is clearly understood. A clear sense of understanding can make any "boring" subject more interesting and fun to learn. I like to start with the basics of a subject and move into detail as required. If more time is needed on any one topic I am willing to go over it as many times as the student wants.
I have always enjoyed teaching. When i was in college I used to teach my juniors in subjects that they needed help in. My notes in college became very popular and are still being used today. I have tutored and mentored students for more than five years in Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, Physics, Chemistry, English and ESL. I have a degree in Psychology and a certificate in TEFL. I believe tutoring is a really helpful and useful addition to class and studying by oneself because it is reviewing class material once again and it is a way for students to be accountable to yet another person who knows the answers to their questions and can help them work to that answer as well.
I usually start with a diagnostic test to concentrate on weaker areas then come up with a weekly plan focusing on those areas. After a lesson, I usually give worksheets and sometimes online exercises, depending on the subject, and use videos and games if applicable.
