How do I summarize teaching in my life? I guess the best way to explain my teaching experience is to tell you a story. As a young girl I wanted to be a teacher. Because of my love of learning I taught all my siblings how to read. I know it is pretty funny but it is a true story. That led to my doing teaching seminars, which led to consulting, which led to training, which led to my working with individuals as a life coach. As an undergraduate at MIT, I have a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, and have complete master of those taught at the high school level. I have also completed several advanced courses in chemistry, biology, and physics, but am still young enough to remember the techniques I used to learn those subjects when I myself was a high school student. I have prepared many students (privately) for final exams in biology, geometry, and algebra.
I have a knack for creating analogies and mechanisms to help students remember things for exams, as well as strategies and ways of thinking that may be a little different than what was taught in class (but still gets them to the final result). I really want to help kids succeed in school and be in charge of their learning even after I am no longer their tutor. I like to inspire them to learn.

As an undergraduate I studied education, and acquired a secondary education license while pursuing a rigorous mathematics curriculum. I find that each person has a different learing style and try to find out what works for them. I also teach them that organization of thoughts and ideas are helpful in how they approach learning. I relate the subject matter to what is needed to learn and to something that they can relate to.
