I belong to Mensa and the NCTM, and have excellent English and decent Spanish speaking and writing skills. I have taught and tutored in mathematics and computer science for quite awhile, and I earned a 95% on my PSAT and a 32 on my ACT.
Generally, I'm a constructivist, and I believe the best method of tutoring is providing a completely individuated scaffold for any student. When it comes to starting a new subject, I start with questions to stimulate minds first. I start from the last step, example: How can we do elbow flexion? Then elbow joint constituents and their relation to each other Then the origin and insertion of the "Brachialis" as well as its nerve and blood supply.... I think this works for almost 70% of students. Some have a special aproach that can be discovered in their response to a general question like "What can you see through this window"?
