I love creating a sense of wonder and exploration as well as critical thinking. I like to incorporate the children's interests into what it is they are trying to study. I am patient, understanding, and approachable. I believe that teachers are overworked sometimes in classroom settings and that some students get overlooked when they need a little more time to grasp a concept. Working with people, particularly children, has always been a passion of mine. Through the psychology program at Husson College I was able to gain a better understanding of human interaction, interpersonal relationships, as well as to obtain further insight on the foundation of the cognitive wiring in which we all possess. I also have a 6 year old daughter, who I have found to be the key to my drive in watching all children achieve academic success. I think the process starts with parents but branches out into the world of educators, and truly is a battle that can be won as long as there is always a core group of people committed to each child's success in the classroom. While attending Bates College, I was motivated academically to achieve the best education possible.
