A Little Bit About Me...

Progressing through graduate school and working as a undergraduate student demonstrator allowed me to define learning as a personal process of growth. Being able to ask questions and actually attempt to answer those questions was extremely motivating. Involving and motivating students presents its challenges, but my goal of individualizing learning creates an open and comfortable environment where students can feel free to ask questions, make mistakes, and challenge themselves. I have found that having the student talk through the subject matter can be useful in determining his/her strengths and level of understanding. I like to have the student work through some problems they have not been assigned from their book/notes so that they are able to practice and work through some other problems before attempting any assignments.
