In my professional career, I enjoy taking a problem, breaking it down into its component parts, and solving each part as I work towards its solution. I also try to do this whenever I am showing someone how to do something, making sure that the person I am instructing is comfortable at each step of the way. Without trying to sound too lofty, I would say that I use the “Socratic” method of instruction, asking the student questions that they can answer themselves, eventually enabling the student to ask his or her own questions.
