I am that highly qualified professional who is prepared to take on the challenging and yet rewarding position as a teacher of English or Social Studies. I am a mature student, who has attained a Master’s of Art in teaching degree from TWU (Fall 2009), and have certification in Secondary English Language Arts & Reading and Secondary Social Studies. I have been substitute teaching multiple subjects nearly every day this past year in the Northwest Independent School District, since completing my student teaching English & Reading at Northwest High School.
I am convinced that for students to succeed in their education and in life they must have a firm foundation in reading and writing. My degree in Engineering has given me plenty of experience in math and science. I have also had graduate courses in Physics and Engineering. As a graduate student at UNT, I instructed several physics and astronomy labs and learned first hand what teaching can be like. I have since felt that teaching math and science is a career I want to pursue.
I have always had a passion for learning, and helping others learn. In middle school, High School and College, other students came to me for help with assignments. Knowing what it is like to be a student, I try to see from the students point of view. Each student teaches me their own way to learn. I enjoy learning and hope that I can share that joy with others.
