While I enjoy business, working with children is my passion, hence why I am pursuing my teaching certification. I believe the best way to teach students any skill is to let them have hands on experience with it. I would first try and pinpoint where my students weaknesses were, and sometimes even ask them to describe what kind of trouble they're having with the material. I would then use a dry erase board to work through problems and examples with them until they demonstrated a grasp of the material. I would also use my real-world experience, and discuss examples of how these concepts are applied. I quickly discovered that some students needed more attention, so I would tailor the tutoring to their specific needs. If the course included a software program, I would work with them one on one and assist with the completion of tasks (making sure they fully understood the material, and not just giving them the answers).

Every job I've ever had has been one where I teach. I had a job 3 years teaching ballroom dance, 2 years I coached T-ball, and for 4 years I've tutored math.
