My comments on tutoring ASVAB : Math portion

I am very patient, but I expect you to work to his or her full ability and to be honest about your weak points. If you can do most of the work on your own and come to me with what you truly have problems with, out time together will be much more productive.
I have a been tutoring math on at least a part-time basis for over 20 years. I have a degree in Psychology and another in Geomatics (Surveying and Mapping - heavy on mathematics) from the University of Florida. I have received a perfect score on the math portion of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination). Let me put that experience to work for you!

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from UNF in 1993 with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in the field of Management. The degree required classes in Accounting, Finance, Algebra and Economics. Mathematics has risen to be one of my preferred subjects, tutoring this subject for a year to date.
I do believe that all children have the ability to learn the subjects however not all children are in the right mind to do so. My goal is to show in real world, understandable terms the subjects we will work on. I believe that if a child is explained the rules in terms and words he/she understands, then he/she will grasp the material and carry it with them into the future rather than trying to cram for an exam with no retention.

My teaching style is a type of facilitator approach. I realize the with every classroom there is middle level of learners the same as lower and higher achievers. My goal becomes aimed at the middle with reserves and encouragement for the lower as well as higher students.I often try ro challenge the classroom wholly and getting to know my students individually. A Little Bit About Me...

My years in the Air Force and undergraduate school, as well as my graduate experience and working in the housing projects prepared me for the 17 years I worked in the county jail library in Atlanta. I believe my strongest efforts in education were working with the inmates at the Fulton County Jail. Many of the inmates there were working on their G.E.D. programs. I prefer working with students on a one on one basis, although I enjoyed my classroom time.
