Highly educated Math and Physics Tutor

I love helping students understand Math.

I received my BS degree in Math Education in Spring of 2001 at Florida State University. While at FSU I worked in the Math Help Center for three months. I taught math for two years and decided to choose a different career path in Actuarial Mathematics. I am currently finishing my master's degree at Florida State University. For two years I tutored math at all levels at Sylvan Learning Center in Tallahassee. My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : I have successful tutoring experience in Pre-Algebra. Before I started tutoring, the student was doing classes online, skipping lessons, and going directly to the tests, and had an average of 40% in the class. I worked with him the entire second semester, and he finished with an average of 80% in the class.

In short: I'm a college freshman who is going into Math Education at the middle/high school level. As a disclaimer, I've had very little tutoring/teaching experience (My experience is with one 8th grade, pre-algebra student). That being said, I really enjoyed tutoring and will help out for free in any way that can fit in my schedule. I love teaching, I love lower level math (for whatever reason that may be), and I love helping people understand the basic concepts that will be the building blocks of future math classes.
