I began my college journey as an English major. I decided to switch to Elementary Education to be able to reach future writers before they lost the love for it. The majority of my tutoring experience took place at Northern Illinois University from 2007 to 2008. There I worked in the NIU Writers’ Workshop, tutoring freshman students with assignments from their English classes. I worked with the same students each week (usually one or two at a time for 50 minutes) on both personal narratives and research papers.
