My passion for education blossomed while volunteering as a tutor with Somali refugee children in Pittsburgh, PA during college. After graduating with a B.A. in History and Political Science I joined Teach For America, where I taught first grade for two years and substitute taught pre-kindergarten through fifth grade for one year.
