Before I began my professional teaching career, I worked for the Read Across America program helping young learners gain an appreciation for reading. I mentored elementary students who were labeled at risk due to low performance in reading. In 2001, I began teaching pre-k in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I attended a math academy when I was little, Kumon, and now I want to create something like that.
