I attended a preparatory school in Junior High and High School. I then went on to Mississippi College where I obtained a Bachelor degree in Home Economics with an emphysis on Fashion Merchandising. When I became a mom, I decided to home school my kids so that I could take an active part in their education and I could guide them in ways that someone else might not find interesting or important.
I love to learn and everyone learns differently. I believe that if the information is not being understood one way, then we need to find another way to instruct. Hands-on learning and learning through experience always leaves a lasting impression. I have been able to achieve great results from my students by clearly explaining things to their understanding levels. I like to have fun with my students, using games and art as teaching tools when applicable, regardless of their age. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is primarily includes me working right along side the student at all times. I like to provide real world examples whenever possible, and firmly believe in using those examples to help the student understand the bigger picture of what they are learning. In other words, I don’t want to simply teach the student how to do the lesson but also why. I want them to understand the ultimate goal of what they are learning and the underlying reason as I believe this facilitates long-term retention of the material.
