Need a good Math tutor? Look no further!

I have been a tutor since high school. In HS I tutored for ESL (English as a Second Language). More recently I have been a Math tutor at Augsburg College. I am proficient in the subjects ranging from pre-algebra to calculus 3. I am pretty good with statistics and logic (Discrete Math) as well. I also have experience teaching younger children as well. It is my hope that by helping other people with Math they will learn to like it as much as I do.

I believe that people learn in different fashions. For example, I feel that some concepts may be better explained with tangible objects while other concepts are learned better when questioned and discussed. By exploring the different ways of learning we can find what works best for that individual and use that method as a tool for their understanding. I enjoy working with students on a one-on-one tutoring basis. I begin the first session with listening to the student to discover what he/she feels is the greatest strength and weaknesses in the areas of academics. Using Benchmark and other assessments, I then select and utilize materials that will best meet the student’s individual needs. I understand there is not one specific way to teach a subject and the key is asking questions to find out what will help a particular student.
