I like to actively engage the students with the subject matter at hand, bringing into the discussion real world experiences and tapping into the experiences of the students in order to "bring the message home". I first seek to understand the students' goals and objectives, strengths and weaknesses and go from there. It frequently requires modifying content and rate of teaching based on the students' learning levels.
