A Little Bit About Me...

While pursuing my BA accounting and BA in business finance at Wilmington College, I was very involved in tutoring other students at the college. At Wilmington College, we had supplemental instruction which is basically a group tutoring session where the leader is chosen by the professor teaching the course. I was a supplemental instructor for five (5) different courses and I was also an individual tutor for the five supplemental instruction classes along with two (2) other courses. I really enjoy tutoring and helping students with their classes.
I love teaching and have wanted to be a teacher from a very young age. Each student is different in how they learn the material needed for class and I find it to be very important to teach the student in the method that works best for them. Graduated from wright state university in 1993 with a bachelors of science degree in mechanical engineering. I have worked the past 16 years in the automotive industry mainly as a manufacturing supervisor. Also, since high school have volunteered abd served on 2 fire departments as a firefighter and emergency medical technician. I enjoy teaching young adults the education and work experiences I have obtained the past 20 years.
I enjoy teaching and working with all of todays youth. My main joy is teaching science and math since they are the foundation of all engineering principles which makes society go forward everyday. I believe teaching should be one that uses the childs minds in discovery and actual examples.

Teaching is very subjective. Each individual learns according to his/her own style. What I find challenging and rewarding is to find that point where it “clicks”. I believe the best way to learn is through experience and discovery. As an example, I can describe the intelligence of an octopus. But until you actually see a video of one opening a jar for a treat, do you truly realize it as a thinking, planning being. I feel that teaching an individual how to use available resources is just as important as the actual subject. Enabling a student to go out and discover the wonders around him/her through research and education is a wonderful thing indeed.
