Often the kids in my class are those who do not like to be challenged, so I incorporate a lot of questions to provoke thinking and problem solving on their own. Since repetition is a key component to learning, I review a lot which requires patience but pays great dividends in the long run. After graduating college, I served in the US Army for six years as a Chemical Defense Officer. My primary duty was to ensure that all 17,000 soldiers in the 1st Cavalry Division were trained and equipped to properly deal with chemical and biological hazards. To effectively and efficiently complete this duty, I was constantly teaching, coaching and mentoring both fellow officers as well as enlisted soldiers.
