I use the Wilson Reading Program to teach students to read. The Wilson Reading program is a systematic, multi-sensory program that is a twelve step program. The program is a proven scientifically researched based program with measurable results.
I am an Intervention Specialist that teaches high school juniors and seniors with reading and writing. I believe that instructional strategies should be varied and flexible. Students are unique and their learning styles are different. Teachers need to have varied instructional strategies to try and meet the needs of the diversity of their students. I believe that knowledge of subject matter is extremely important, but not the sole component in instruction.
