A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelors and Masters in Elementary Education. I have been a substitute teacher for 6 years. I currently work for Fort Knox Community Schools as a long term substitute teacher. I fill in for the maternity leaves, sicknesses and emergency cases. I am a perferred substitute. In addition, I have tutoring experience. All of my students make gains in subjects that they need help with. I strive to make sure that all students learn at their potential.
Teaching is my passion. I love working with students and to watch them grow and learn. All students deserve an exceptional education and they should be taught to their own learning style. I have been a playwright for the last ten years, which is why I chose to get my BA in writing. Being involved in extensive reading and writing programs in and out of school has given me a deep appreciation for words. Over the course of my education, I was fortunate enough to tutor several young students struggling with reading and writing, as well as weekly creative writing workshops with elementary students.
The satisfaction that comes from working with a student, one on one, who is struggling, and seeing them change from angry and insecure to confident and proud is immense. I haven't found it anywhere else. As a teacher, my initial goal is to discover how to facilitate the individual learning styles of my students. As a Webster University graduate, I pursued advanced degrees (Master of Arts) in the fields of HR Management and HR Training and Development. I also attained a BS in Business Administration at Spalding University. I have used the Training and Development degree to a large extent. This comes with tutoring adults to young children in the areas of English, Grammer and Writing. This training that I have done has occured for the last 10 years.
