My comments on tutoring Biology : Took college biology classes.

I will ask the student how they learn a subject the best, and help them with their problem by reinforcing basic concepts and then adding on to those concepts. Also, I am a motivator; I will help the student understand that the subject is learnable and maybe even enjoyable to learn!
I have taught classes on aviation related subjects for my Civil Air Patrol. I was homeschooled all the way to the college level, and I remember a lot of subjects in great detail. I have not taught classes at a high school or college. Generally speaking, I have a vast area of knowledge and I know I can help you with your learning needs!

While attaining my genetics degree at Ohio State, I worked at the OSU Chimpanzee Center. After graduating, I started working for the Department of Agriculture in the Weights and Measures division. It was my job to try to "trick" the scales before they could become available for commercial use. I moved back home to Coshocton when I got married. Biology is a subject that unfortunately can get pretty dense and requires an amount of memorization. However, it is a subject that builds upon itself, so if you understand the big picture of a given topic in biology, it’s easier to expand from there. Thus, I prefer to start with the big picture first, then build from there. When possible, I like to use real-world examples so the student can see the biology principles they’re learning at work. While meeting with a student, I like to assist the student in developing their answers, not just giving them answers though sometimes that’s necessary.
