Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects!

I am a former special education teacher who specialized with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing populations, but in the regular education environment, I worked with kids of all disabilities all the way to highly gifted kids. I was known for recognizing learning styles and adapting curriculum to reach all of those populations in very creative and engaging ways for excellent results. I also consult regularly with siblings who home school. I can relate best with the student/youth.

I attended Rufus King World IB High school in Milwaukee, Wi, one of the most prestigious inner city high schools in the country. I excelled in IB Geography, Chorus, and Theatre. I was one of those kids who never did any homework, but passed my tests. Everyone came to me for help on projects, homework, ect. My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : I am excellent at helping others understand and analyze what they have read, as well as assisting others in developing analytical skills of their own. I spent a summer in Uganda teaching Reading, Writing, and Reading Comprehension to children ages 7-18.

I have a degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and have two years experience writing for the Daily Tar Heel.
