I can relate best with the student/youth.

I attended Rufus King World IB High school in Milwaukee, Wi, one of the most prestigious inner city high schools in the country. I excelled in IB Geography, Chorus, and Theatre. I was one of those kids who never did any homework, but passed my tests. Everyone came to me for help on projects, homework, ect. I feel that I didn't fully utilize my strengths in school as I could have, so I would love to share that with those who need it now.
Very relaxed, easy going, friendly. I feel less pressure and non stressful settings help students learn better. They can relate to a younger person who is more in tune with youth and someone who understands them.

Along with my passion for learning and my commitment to excellence, my love for teaching naturally overflows in tutoring. In my first linguistics class, I was approached by the teacher and asked to tutor while taking the class! I have since worked as a Teacher's Assistant for Linguistics, an ESL tutor with Journey's End Refugee Services,and a Humanities instructor and tutor in Lima, Peru. I lived and worked in Lima for three years and have native command of Spanish pronunciation, grammar and syntax. I have never received a grade below "A" on any written assignment throughout my college career.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have just recently started to pursue my doctoral degree in educational leadership at University of Phoneix. I have always had a passion for mentoring, teaching, and advising young people. I have had tons of experience working with youth and mentoring them. At age 18, I even started a youth outreach ministry called Serenity Ambassadors for Christ reaching at risk teenagers through music and biblical teaching. At the same time, I was teaching and advising youth at my church and surrounding areas. I earned my Masters Degree in Theology and Counseling in May 2008 at Oral Roberts University.
My teaching style can vary depending on what age level that I am teaching. According to Erik Erickson, there are eight stages of learning that we develop as children until we become an adult learner.
