I believe that everyone has a different learning style and that we can never assume that one individual is the same in the way that they learn. In teaching I try to implement different approaches to see which one may work the best and stick to that method. I have found flash cards, memorization skills and techniques as well as a hands on approach to be some of the best methods. I also believe that creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere helps most people retain what they have learned. Also, I am an extremely patient person and I do not mind having to explain things in a way that can relate or better help the student understand. A successful student truly is a successful teacher.

During my senior year at Ohio State, I began working with an after-school program comprised of bilingual children that live in Columbus, where I started helping kids with their homework (in Spanish and English). After I graduated with my degree in Spanish and Communication, I began tutoring one of my friends for one of her college Spanish courses and got a job giving homework help and running an after-school program for a bilingual school in Ohio.

Though I am not teaching now I volunteer for Youth for Christ, teaching students in the Bible, personal ethics and making right life choices. A life goal has been to educate and enhance the lives of teenagers. I want students to move ahead, and use encouragement as a means to do this. I always try to establish a personal relationship with the student, as people do not care about what you know until they know that you care.
