A Little Bit About Me...

I feel very comfortable dealing with the technical side of the English language--that is, the grammatical side. I am also quite comfortable discussing theme, characters, and various plot devices in novels. During high school, I excelled in the Advanced Placement English programs, and in my time at Penn State University, I have taken a number of honors courses to further my education, focusing my studies on writing; additionally, I have completed an editorial internship, writing and editing numerous articles for both magazines and newspapers in the State College area. I believe in a constructivist approach to education. Stusents come with prior knowledge of topics. My goal is to get those students to connect prior knowledge with new information. I also believe that there are mltiple ways that students learn. They can have multiple intelligences in several areas, such as artistic, kinesthetic, or visual and spatial.
