Composition is one of my top subjects! Receiving a 5/5 grade on the AP Composition test is a notable achievement. Throughout the years I have taken several courses in Composition that have enabled me to write to the audience, and write coherently. The ability to teach these things is of course a trait acquired through my learning. I love writing, and I would thoroughly enjoy teaching on this subject.

Granted, I am still in school myself, however, I pride myself in exceptional achievements, and a mountain of sharable knowledge. I maintain a 4.0 GPA, and I take college classes as well. I lack teaching degrees and I lack diplomas in any field, yet I guarantee that in some fields -- History and Geography -- I know as much as a college graduate as I study, and have studied since a small child, those fields extensively in my spare time. I love to teach, the few opportunities I have had reaped great feedback and students who came to me personally saying they learned more than had previously. A Little Bit About Me...

After completing my education at Brigham Young University-Idaho in the spring of 2003, I was hired to work as an aid at the school where I had done my student teaching. During this year, I worked with students in reading and math lab classes which were designed to help students who were struggling to achieve proficient scores on their ISAT's. I then was hired as a teacher and taught for the next two years in the subjects of reading lab, literature, and language arts. I worked with 6th through 8th grade students, and enjoyed each age and the challenges that come with that time in a student's life. I also have children of my own, which has taught me much more about working with children and helping them to learn.

I have always loved being able to teach and instruct in areas that I am very familiar with. Working the past two years at Eastern Idaho Technical College with the students has enhanced this skill. I am able to identify with how people learn and absorb new information. Then I am able to adapt and teach them in a way that helps them to understand the material. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a love for children and for learning. I believe in being patient and encouraging children to learn. I have learned in my dealings with children that they respond better when they feel that I have a genuine interest in them. I have worked with children with Autism. I enjoy watching students grasp the scientific method as it is something that comes naturally to most people if put in the right context. Science is rewarding to teach because it incorporates other disciplines like math. I often receive comments about my effective teaching style. I believe this is because of my education and that teaching science is a passion for me and a lifetime pursuit. I have noticed that people understand science better when it is related to their life.
