I am a Creativity Consultant and use a wide variety of teaching styles in my classes and individual sessions, including lectures, demonstrations, mind mapping, freeflow writing, focusing, and intuitive problem solving. I am a dynamic teacher who has a gift for inspiring, empowering and motivating children of all ages.
For 26 years, I have presented my writing and expressive arts classes in California, Washington State and North Carolina. I have been a substitute teacher and tutor in Language Arts, biological sciences, social sciences, math, mind mapping and study skills. I have offered staff presentations for teachers in whole brain learning, the seven intelligences and creative thinking. In arts in education programs,I visit schools in many cities to offer my classes.

Although I have been self employed for the last 6 years, I went back to school last year to add Science and Math for middle school to my certification. I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor. I have tutored for 3 years while I worked for Tryon Elementary school. I had great success with the students I worked with, in particular concerning math. I am very qualified to work in a tutoring capacity.
I believe in good classroom management and organized lesson plans. I set appropriate boundaries and expect the students to follow the rules that are set before them.
