My teaching style is to find out what a student is good at and build on that success to improve areas of concern. I use humor and a laid back style with organization and skills to increase probability of success in academic areas. I believe every student is different and learning styles are unique. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have always had a passion for learning and helping others. I was a Honors English student and I have a strong interest in reading and writing. I have worked as a seasonal scorer of standardized assesments for a year. I was an America Reads America Counts tutor for 1 1/2 years. I tutored youth K-12 in both reading and math. I also provided homework assistance with other subjects. During the last 2 1/2 years, I tutored youth residents and program participants in a variety of subjects.
