It's true that every student learns at a different pace with a different style. I like to see myself as a cameleon teacher, catering my format to individual needs. My style tends to be laid back so that students are comfortable expressing their likes and dislikes with me, curbing their fear of not understanding something. I love to use metaphors, pictures, examples and stories to illustrate the subject in a new and perhaps clearer way. As a young man I had several problems with math. It turns out that I was unable to visualize what the equations meant in abstract algebra and calculus. Eventually I was able to relate these concepts to subjects that I found interesting such as music and archaeology. Therefore creating more interest in the subjects that I gravitated to naturally. I believe that I could explain concepts to others in a way that suits their interests. No two students learn the same way and if the student is not learning the teacher is just as responsible as the student.
