Every child can learn, but they don't all learn the same way

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I am currently a second grade teacher. I tutor during the summers and have students of all ages, including middle school and high school. I believe all children can learn. It takes a special teacher to find out how a child learns and create lessons to engage that learning style. What works for one student doesn't always work for every student. I am a loving and positive teacher by nature. I strive to be a teacher that my students will remember for life, because our time was such a positive impact on their success.

A Little Bit About Me...

I currently hold a Bachelors of English Education. I am certified to teach 7th through 12th grade English, Speech, Drama, and Debate. I have spent most summers learning new teaching methods and keeping current with reading trends including Advanced Placement, Great Expectations, Professional Learning Communities, and various writing workshops. I enjoy reading young adult literature which has gained me an advantage in the classroom.
Graduating Magna Cum Laude from college, I have always been a good student. My goal as a teacher has always been to lead by example. I love helping children achieve their educational goals. I am a firm believer in giving back to our communities through helping children that are struggling academically.
