Tutoring opportunities for elementary age

I have much experience tutoring young children from ages 5-14 in all of the four main subjects. It all started with my little sister when I was in High school and began expanding from their with her classmates and classmate friends and so forth bringing me to volunteer at the YMCA for young boys and girls club after school program, and I also have worked at public schools in D.C for after school programs for home work time. I have been tutoring for the past 5 years and have used my experience to help young children grow in education and achieve academic goals.
I generally enjoy using flash cards as a form to help the child grow in what ever subject they need help growing in. More importantly though to me it generally depends on the child his/herself and if they are auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learners.

My comments on tutoring Elementary Science : The key is to make science fun and fascinating! Cooking is a great way to do this.

I am a pre-medical student at UAA who has a BA in Music Education. I spent a year teaching in Metlakatla, AK before moving up to Anchorage to continue my education in science and math. I am currently taking Biology, Chemistry and Calculus and will be continuing on with Physics and advanced level Chemistry classes. I have tutored Algebra while in college as a music education major. I care very much about helping students succeed and be able to move on to a higher level of learning. I have been in advanced level Math classes all through high school, and was able to start taking calculus this year and currently have an A average.
