A Little Bit About Me...

I am a licensed Special Educator. I have been teaching students ages 3 to 21 in the public school system for 14 years. I am both an Early Childhood Specialist in General Education and a Special Educator for all grades. I am able to identify and remediate learning problems. I worked as a teacher's assistant for several years in public schools in Illinois, assisting in K-5 classrooms. I worked at Sylvan Learning Center for 2 years, teaching beginning reading and elementary reading. As I gained experience, I began tutoring students in the school district where I worked. After several years, I became a fifth grade teacher in a private school where I taught for 5 years. In this position, I worked with students on writing skills, and prepared students for our annual math olympics, science fair, and spelling competitions. I tutored individual 4th and 5th graders after school.
