I have been a teacher for the last fifteen years. I teach social studies, but my specialization is teaching argumentative (college level) writing.I have done plenty of SAT prep and tutoring for students at the high school and college level. I am also a school counselor and can offer a vast array of services including FASFA, Naviance/Common Application and college/career counseling.
My style of education is to teach by modeling. Students need to see things in a step-by-step format with instructions, followed by an immediate example. I also provide sample argumentative essays for students who learn by seeing a complete model. My counseling style is to work with students, first by building a rapport and then using that as the foundation to get a feel for their college/career interests. I then look at their grades to help them build a custom transitional plan into early adulthood.

Hey! My names Bethy! I'm 13 years old and in 8th grade. I've been tutoring since I was in 5th grade. I can tutor all ages in almost any subject. Last year I had the highest GPA in my whole school! I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I love being able to help students feel comfortable with the material they are studying. I have tutored numerous times throughout college, and would like to get back into tutoring students because I find it to be rewarding. As a student who went from living in Germany and being taught that there are many ways of getting the right answer, to moving to America where everything is taught in one way, I have learned to incorporate my tutoring skills to the need of each individual student. A Little Bit About Me...
