All students, regardless of race, gender, learning disability, socioeconomic status, and cultural group, are capable of learning, especially if they have a good teacher. As an educator, I believe that I must be willing to step outside the norm to meet the diverse needs of students, in order to effectively reach them. This implies that I try a variety of approaches. Good teaching involves starting at the child’s level. Teaching that is too confusing, or not challenging enough, will only be a disservice.
