A Little Bit About Me...

My style of teaching is entirely dependent upon the needs of each student. My abilities and skills are highly adaptable to the needs each student faces. I believe that each student has a certain type of intelligence. Some will be gifted in art or music or visual learning or learning by repetition, and I consider it my responsibility to find out how each student learns, and then try to teach using their innate intelligence. For instance, if a student learns best using music, I will try to create a song that will help them learn the material. I have had success with this as a teacher of Latin. More About This Tutor...

I am a graduate student in the History Department at UT-Austin, and I have a BA in Philosophy from Brown University. Having been a teaching assistant at the college level, I am fully versed in grading standards and I can help you, my student, perform at your highest possible level. I have had a lot of experience crafting research papers, which I can use to help students through the entire research process, from finding sources to appropriate formatting of the final paper. In addition to acting as a teaching assistant, I can and have tutored students (at the middle school, high school, and college levels) in English (language and literature) and American History; I have also worked to prepare high school students for the PSATs and SATs.
Learning how to read critically and write clearly tends to improve academic performance across the board; students with strong reading and writing ... read more
