A Little Bit About Me...

While working on my Bachelor's Degree at A&M I tutored students in various fields such as Immunology, Medical Microbiology, Bacterial Physiology and Genetics, Ancient Greek, and Clarinet. I also have teaching experience from my time as an assistant instructor at a martial arts school where I aided and held classes in Youth and Adult Brazilian JiuJitsu, Karate and Krav Maga.
I find that talking and reasoning through a problem or situation is the best way to commit information to long term memory. I do this by drawing pictures/maps/diagrams, posing related questions, and drawing on current knowledge to create more connections to what is being studied.

An intellectual and goofy tutor looking to help out.

I don't any paid, professional tutoring experience. However, I have volunteered my services to family members and friends. During my sophomore year, I took Organic Chemistry and excelled. However, my friends were struggling. They hated me a bit for how easy it came to me. I decided to tutor them and help them with homework assignments and studying. They ended up doing very well on the exams, allowing them to secure a 3.0 or higher in the course. I also had to regular help my classmates out with more complex problems in Physics. I was not so much tutoring as working together with them on the homework, but still, it involved clear explanation and a thorough knowledge of the subject matter.

Genetics is one of my top subjects!

Tutored friends and classmates for general chem, genetics, biochemistry, organic chemistry for tests and finals. Most students I taught were B and C grade students trying to get into med school. They received A grades on their tests after tutoring. My story: I HATED chemistry in high school and college and choose economics instead. I also had the worst teacher one could ever have and taught myself chemistry later in life while working for a pharmaceutical manufacturing company and then joined the biotech program for a masters degree.
