I believe teaching is best learned though practical examples (especially math). because I used to say the same thing that I'm sure that kids today are saying. When am i ever going to use this in my daily life? Its important to let them see the applications from knowing calculus based formulas to predict market declines (algorithms), to basic math in in inventory work, to understanding complex words and their proper sentence usage so they can understand what rudimentary or neophyte means in a job interview. Also, its important to inspire. most of the children/ teens in a tutoring course have been discouraged due to the fact that they are not picking up on a subject as quickly as their peers. That why its understandable that if they have someone to look up to, as i did, in a particular course they tend to do better and go beyond what they though originally possible. Over the last 4-6 years

Chaoba Nikkie A - Fayetteville, AR 72701 (33.2 mi) - Calculus I Tutor - $32.50/hr.
I was a lectuter in an Indian University, teaching undergraduate courses for Electronics and Communications major. Was a teaching assistant during my Masters in India. When I was doing my MS in Electrical Engineering in Kansas State University I was a teaching assistant. I love tutoring and mentoring. I have enjoyed teaching and have almost 4 yrs of experience. My main focus on teaching is on understanding the subject and problem solving. I teach them the tools and methods and help them solve the problem independently. In case of very weak students I try my best to go down to their level and teach them. Academic excellence is my top priority. At the end of the day, a students success is what matters to me. I make sure that they perform well.

I firmly believe that every student can learn, given the proper environment and instruction. I make it a point to listen to my students and try to see intellectual confusion and impasses from their viewpoint so that I can teach them in a way that makes sense to them and allows them to fully understand the concept I am trying to relay. Tutoring is a learning process for both me and my students, and I am dedicated to seeing my students through it. I am patient and want to see my students succeed in their studies and am willing to alter my teaching style based on the needs of my students in order to help them achieve their goals. Throughout college, I held myself to a high educational standard, and maintained a 3.92 GPA. I majored in music, minored in chemistry, and completed extensive coursework in the math and science areas. Since graduation, I have worked in the chemical field, and p
