I graduated from Hope College in three years with a BS in Biology, a BA in Chemistry, and a minor in Classical Studies. I tutored throughout high school and college. I have tutored Latin (both into and upper level courses), Math (high school), history (high school,) Mythology (college), Biology (both intro and upper level courses), and Chemistry (both intro and upper level courses). In college, I was also a TA for Organic Chemistry discussion workshops, as well as biochemistry and organic chemistry labs. Also in college, I worked with science camps, grades 1-5. I have also worked at a summer camp, working with kids ages 8-20. I also have experience teaching Sunday school ages 4-12.

My years of tutoring has taught me that each individual has his or her personal learning style (some students learn better with visual aids, while others learn better through repitition). It is this understanding that helps me to adjust my teaching style to fit the individual. I encourage students to think critically and to draw from their reserve of background information when solving problems.
