Then, I incorporate Basic Theory. It is also important for a student to understand why they are playing and how music flows together. My students then begin to learn the major fundamentals of the Bass; Groove, Feel, and how to be a leader. They will also learn how to write their own music, and if they desire how to read and notate. My belief is based upon the idea that all children are different and consequently, they learn differently. I have been taught how to approach those of ESL backgrounds, a multitude of handicaps, and learning disabilities, just to name a few. For instance, every once in a while, a child will take too long to copy notes off of the board or doesn't understand directions that well.
