I love working with children and youth. I believe all students can learn, but each are individuals with different capabilities. I have experience both tutoring degree level students in Geophysics and in mentoring junior programmers in programming C and C++. My science knowledge is second to none, and I am an extremely enthusiastic teacher. At school my strong math lead me to win the physics prize, and I continued with my interest in quantitative science through to my doctorate. Recently I have been developing my own software application, which uses both vector and matrix math in its design.
My teaching style has been to enthuse my students. I find the physical and mathematical models of the world to be fascinating, and try and show how exciting these models are to my listeners. Since attending college, I have been infatuated with teaching. To learn the best strategies for teaching chemistry to students, I took a course entitled, “Instructional Techniques in Chemistry,” and served as the sole laboratory instructor for two sections of general chemistry during my undergraduate studies. A Little Bit About Me...

I earned a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Plymouth State in New Hampshire in 1975. I have 16 years teaching experience at the elementary level teaching 5 years of 2nd grade, 8 years of 4th grade, 1 year of 5th grade, 1 year of 1st grade, and 1 year of 5/6 Language Arts and Science Resource teacher experience. I also taught 1 year at the Junior High level teaching 8th grade Pre-Algebra.
I love teaching because of the difference it makes in a child's life. I am easy to get along with and have a great sense of humor.
