Patient with lots of heart! If you wish to learn I can help

Taught to every age! I was in Europe for 9 years and opened my own American English School. Taught every level from pre-school to Engineers. Also translated and wrote policies and procedures for the European Union REACH program. Taught 3d and 4th grade in Germany. One example: taught English to German elemantary students using the game of baseball to learn new words. My oldest student was 79 years young! The youngest was 4.
Motivation is first. Find out what students skills are and add what they like to encourage learning. Games are always good to encourage all ages to learn. Repetition! Once their grades improve their self confidence will too. Lots of heart and patience!

Let's Go Learn!

I have 8.5 years teaching experience with an outstanding PDAS record. I have recently relocated to the area and would like to provide services to those who are in need. I have very high expectations for my student no matter where they are at. Patience is required in Special Education and it takes hard work to achieve the objectives that are being worked on. Sometimes results happen more quickly and sometimes it takes more time. However, success can be attained with hard work and a great attitude.
My teaching style is based on the student's need. Not everyone learns the same way. It is my goal to find out where the student is at and meet him or her at their level.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children and youth. I believe all students can learn, but each are individuals with different capabilities. I believe as a teacher, it is my job to help your child learn to their best of their ability. I do this through assessing your child's learning style and providing lessons tailored to your child's needs. Learning should be fun, and I incorporate learning games and prizes to inspire students to learn. I am patient and understanding. I have children whom were special education students which helps me in understanding their needs. I believe the teacher's right attitude and preparation is the key to education, and I try to make a difference in each child's education.

More About This Tutor...

I firmly believe that you learn best when you're having fun. Once a topic fascinates you, your mind automatically engages more, which helps you remember better. So I work to draw students in by keeping things interesting, using fun examples, humor, and applying things to areas they will actually care about. I want to make you actually WANT to learn. I have a very adaptable teaching style. If one explanation isn't helpful, I'll try to approach from a different perspective, until we get something that works. I also prefer to encourage children to figure things out themselves, using only a light hand to guide them in the right direction. It builds problem-solving skills, gives you a sense of achievement, and keeps you actively involved.
I've always had a love of learning, and have naturally slipped into an informal tutor role with friends. During high school I took several AP tests ... read more
