I am dedicated to work with students until they understand the subject matter. I have tutored in the tutoring center at the Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL and also a few students taking classes at St.Petersburg College. I also currently work at the Greater Ridgecrest YMCA and formally worked at the Clearwater YMCA so I am good at interacting with children. I also helped a few children with homework after school before my shifts started at the Ridgecrest YMCA. My mother also has been a special needs teacher since before I was born and I have worked with a few special needs kids at my YMCA job.

Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach. After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education. I have been tutoring with Advanced Learners for 1 year and am currently an Adjunct Instructor of Public Speaking at HCC Dale Mabry.
