I consider myself more of a facilitator than a dictator but I do expect my students to show initiative. My goal is for every student to succeed.
I have historically been a sketch artist. This talent led to me into graphic design for advertising. I later majored in advertising and worked several internships and practicums with a variety of ad agencies and publication, including Southern Living. Over half of my 24-year is comprised of creative management positions. Recently, I decided to get back into higher education to earn my Masters degree in graphic design.

My comments on tutoring Speaking : Using the Toastmasters Club training, I have prepared and deliveres several hundred speeches in my career in Business, Government and Government Contractor, and Professional Society meetings. As President of the McCabe & Associates Computing Society, I was toastmaster and coordinator of many speeches by myself and other professionals. The highest level address I have made was at a symposium of 500 IBM Engineers in Puerto Rico, where I was the Keynote Speaker, and was introduced by the President of IBM's System Products Division (35,000 employees). It takes time to become an experienced speaker (obviously), but I can get you started in the right direction for sure.

I have been teaching throughout my career, and students learn quickly because of my easy-going style. I have been vetted by WysAnt Tutoring Service. I am an experienced Public Speaker and Toastmaster.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach whether its for fun or helping.
I am attending school for early childhood degree. Working with children and others have always been apart of me. Throughout school I am always helping and tutoring someone. Teaching someone something that I already know and something they should know or what to know makes me happy. I substitute before and volunteer my time a lot with daycare, Boys and Girls Club, after school programs, and even at church. I love to grab up my neighbor children to see how they are doing in school and if they need help with some work that they may have not gotten an understanding from their teacher or their parents do not understand.

A Little Bit About Me...

I feel as though every child can achieve the impossible, and with the help of someone giving them the attention that they deserve and need, they will feel better about themselves as well. I want to get a child in a learning mood where they'll want to go to school everyday and learn something. I have been working as a Substitute teacher for the last six years in Georgia as well as in the State of Washington. As my resume will indicate, I have experience at tutoring in the four major core subjects (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies). I recently moved back home to the Wilson area after more than 30 years. I attended Elvie Street Elementary, 1963-67, Coon Junior High 1968, Darden High School 1970-71, Fike High School 1972-73 and graduated from Elm City High School in 1973.
