Everyone can learn - it just takes the right presentation!

I am a behavioral specialist with 12 years of experience working with individuals between the ages of 2 and 19 who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, emotional disturbance, Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other developmental disorders. This is what I love doing, and I have the patience to reteach in multiple ways over multiple days. Over the past 5 years I have taught English Language Arts to sixth graders, and tutored in all 6th grade subject areas while using positive reinforcement to enhance productivity. In September, I will be sitting for the certification exam to become a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA). I believe that everyone can learn and everyone has their strengths. We just have to figure out how to let their inner scholar come out to play.

In general, I've always loved Science and Social Studies, so those are my strong points. I love talking about History and learning new things every day. Science can be exciting, but also tricky. I have received my degree in accounting as well as an MBA in international business with a high GPA. I have been in the tax accounting field for 15 years working in large corporations as well as small and large public accounting firms. I have also taught at the local junior college instructing various accounting classes (i.e. Intermediate Accounting I & II, Income Tax, Cost Accounting and Information Systems for Accounting) on a part-time basis over a 5 year time period.
