I graduated from Liberty University in May 2009 with a BS in Accounting. I am currently and have been a substitute teacher in Bedford County for the 2009-2010 school year. I have substituted for grades 6-12. I have been a football coach at Liberty High School for 3 years and I have been a track & field coach at Liberty High School for 5 years. I have helped different types of students away from school in various subjects. I love math and I am in the process of completing the requirements to gain a teaching license to teach high school math.
I really enjoy being around kids and helping them learn new things. When you teach a kid something and they finally get it, the sight of their face lighting up is priceless. If you looked over my resume, you would see that I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a year of experience as an adjunct instructor at a medical career college and two years teaching English as a Second Language at a private institution. However, if you looked over my life, you would see that I have been teaching, tutoring and mentoring my entire life. I have volunteered as a mentor, a tutor, and a teacher in community organizations, in local schools, and at my local church; and I home schooled my own children. As a College graduate, I was dedicated to the advancement of myself and others. After 6 years of successful and rewarding experiences in secondary education, I decided to return to college and obtain a Masters Degree in Education. Upon receiving my Masters in 1984, I taught at the post secondary level in both Virginia and North Carolina. At the post secondary level, I had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of subjects from Math to Business Administration.
