Working with children always has been and always will be a passion of mine. A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout college, I consistently worked as a tutor or mentor, specifically with minority populations. Upon graduation, I joined Teach for America and taught high school English in rural North Carolina. Since my tenure in TFA, I have taught English to students in Mexico, substitue taught for 2 years at a Waldorf school in La Crosse, WI, and currently tutor and mentor students as I attend graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Cumulatively, including extended substitute teaching situations, I have taught all grade levels 1-12 in various subjects. I would describe my teaching style as ecclectic. By this I mean that I discern which style or strategy would best accomdodate the needs of the particular child, based on their learning style. Once the child's learning style is distinguished, I would tailor my lessons/tutoring to that particular style.

A Little Bit About Me...

Growing up knowing that knowledge is power, it seemed as though anything was achievable. I am a certified 6 - 12 Secondary Mathematics teacher. I have been teaching for 10 years with my last four being at the college level. I have been awarded the Who's Who a number of times. I just received my master's degree in mathematics from Marquette this spring.
I am a compassionate person who will do whatever it takes to help students succeed. I always encourage my students to ask as many questions as they need to so that they have a firm understanding of the material. I love seeing the growth in the individual student.
